Kongresové Centrum Praha (Prague Conference Centre) – USE ENTRANCE 1
5. května 1640/65, Nusle, 18200 Prague 4,
Prague, Czech Republic
Getting to the Venue
The conference centre is situated in Prague 4, which is not in the centre of Prague. It has good transport links via the underground from locations around Prague, including directly from the airport. The underground station is Vyšehrad.
The official conference hotel is the Corinthia Hotel. Superior rooms are available at a rate of Euro 148.50 per night, including breakfast, wifi, and all taxes. We are sharing this special conference rate with the ICED conference, and you can use their dedicated booking link to receive the group rate, even if you are only attending the WSC. The default booking is for a superior twin room. If you would prefer a double room with one king-size bed, make your booking then contact the agent to change the room type. If you need somebody to share with, you could try asking on our Facebook event page.
For other hotels, guesthouses, apartments etc., try Trip Advisor or trivago. For cheaper hostel accommodation, try HostelWorld. AirBnB also has a range of options starting at just £8 a night. Prague is very busy at the beginning of June, so we recommend early booking.
Please note, the conference venue is in Prague 4, which is not central to the tourist areas. If you are coming to the Prague for the first time and are spending some extra time, you may want to stay in the centre.
Flight advice for higher-weight individuals
There is a Facebook group called Flying While Fat, started by activist Stacy Bias. You may be able to get some tips and ideas here. Also, the website Seat Guru allows you to find out details of seats, widths, leg room, access and other issues by airline and plane type.
The conference venue is accessible to disabled users, and the rooms we have booked have free-standing arm-less chairs and tables. Please contact us if you have any concerns or requests.
Weird and wonderful things to do in Prague
We’d like to welcome Prague Special Tours as the official tour sponsor for the 2017 Weight Stigma Conference. Prague Special Tours aim to provide visitors with a different view of the city, beyond the obvious tourist attractions.
Here are just some of the tours they offer:
- Beer, breweries & pub tours: http://www.prague-beer-tours.com/beer-home-page
- Communism & Nuclear Bunker tour: http://www.prague-communism-tour.com/

We have created a Facebook event page for the conference. Feel free to use this page to ask questions, share tips and ideas, or look for people to share a room with.
