Body Image is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality, scientific articles on body image and human physical appearance. Body image is a multi-faceted concept that refers to persons’ perceptions and attitudes about their own body, particularly but not exclusively its appearance. The journal invites contributions from a broad range of disciplines – psychological science, other social and behavioral sciences, and medical and health sciences. The journal publishes original research articles, brief research reports, theoretical and review papers, and science-based practitioner reports of interest.
Fat Studies: Past, Present, Futures is the third fat studies conference held in New Zealand. Speakers from around the world share fat scholarship and activism over 18-19 June, 2020 at Massey University in Auckland, New Zealand. Our keynotes are Esther Rothblum, Editor-at-Large of Fat Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Body Weight & Society, and Sonya Renee Taylor of The Body is Not an Apology. Those unable to attend in person will be welcome to register as online attendees, which will provide livestreaming of the conference and on-demand videos of the conference presentations for up to a year.

Rebecca Scritchfield, author of Body Kindness, and host of the Body Kindness podcast is a HAES registered dietitian and certified exercise physiologist. She offers weight inclusive individual, group, and online programs centered on well-being enhancement. Rebecca’s Body Kindness philosophy has been studied at UNC Charlotte MIND-BATCH lab – mindful self-care and depressive symptoms in pregnancy and postpartum.
